Bunnypower!!
So I saw the Bunnies in Philly last night, at my old stomping grounds on South Street, the TLA. Ahhh, amazing of course! My 14th Bunnyshow..yikes..I think I'm officially old and obsessive. Well I guess I knew that around show 4, hehe. Too bad me and my bff didn't have the Yager bomb..yager shot dropped in a red bull..BUT I have this thing where I can't be *too* tanked fer the Bunnymen. Cos I'm fanatical, see. I can still get perty darn tipsy tho..so we DID have a whiskey shot. We got frontish row and the thing that struck me not too far into the set was the fact that the lighting was ridiculously low! Like, I couldn't see Ian's face EVER during the hour something set. I know they like the mysterious lighting and smoke machines and whatnot, but c'mon, we wanna see Ian's pretty face once or twice, right?! Slightly dissapointing, but they sounded amazing as per usual. The Disease was fucking cool. No In the Margins which was odd..then in the middle of Rescue Ian threw a temper tantrum cos some weirdo with crusty pigtails (really) took this girl's place in the front while she went to the restroom. Which, honestly, in concert rules to ME that pretty much means yer position is fair game. But apparently to Ian, pretty girls are much better to look at in the front than smelly weird-haired hippies, and he pretty much wouldn't keep on playing until this dude was escorted out. He even kicked the guys hand when the dude flipped him off! Well..that was pretty funny. But I don't get the big hubub of that chicks spot in the audience. Maybe it was Ian's new gf or soemthing..is that jealousy in my typing?? Uh, duh. My girly had to wake up at 5 in the AM the next day so nothing I repeat NOTHING was going to convince her to hang around for me to see Ian. So, sadly, I went home without my usual Ian fix. But there's always the Nyc show tomorrow! Woot! And let me tell you how amusing it is to hear random people ask me, " Hey, are you Krissy?..the groupie??" HAHAHA. My friend was looking at me like these people and/or me were crazy. Why yes, I am the weirdo fangirl who spends too much time on Bunnyforums and blogs. I am internet famous!! As a groupie, oh! mom and dad are so proud. GET THIS. The merch guy was one of 'em who asks me this, and then he says he runs the Bunnysite, AND that Will and the Bunnies will be coming to the Apple store on Sat!! I told him I'm working all day on Sat! He said cool, we'll ask for you! And I pretty much had a stroke with excitement. Oy. I can't wait till Irving Plaza and the afterparty is at mothereffin TisWas! Too bad I think I have larangitis or something..my normally squeaky voice has been a Lindsey Lohan rasp for a week now, and it's weirding out my friends. Or maybe they think it's a delightful change!
I'm off to ride the train with my dad and catch a bus back to Brooklyn, phew! I love it here in Downingtown fer about a day, then I start getting the itchies. Suburbia..ahhh, I do not miss you. I saw 2 of my bffs from grade through high school tho, and that makes everything worth it. It's good to know we're still the dorks we always were. Like on the drive back here from NYC, my friend and I were singing Big Country and laughing hysterically, and missed the exit we have both lived of for like, 10+ years. And THEN didn't notice for like 10 miles! Two grown ass women..singing stupid 80s songs in the car..yessss...
