I saw ya at the barricades, babe
Ahh, soooo this weekend since Thursday has been TOO EFFING MUCH, even for me. Emotionally, physically, it's just a big ol' bucket of confusion. What's new you say? Well, I guess nuthin, I never *quite* know what the hell is going on. Between my family, my friends, my crushes, my job, my designer's block..ARGH! ANYway, now that the Bunnytour '06 is over, let's do a lil' recap, hey, let's do some hilights!
Quality time with one of my bestest and oldest friends! A shot of whiskey with her even (well, hers was tequila)! She was with me the first time I saw them in the summer of 2001, after high school graduation. She doesn't quite understand the Ian thing, but she's put up with it since we were 17 and she never let's me down! Plus she's freakin adorable, and then she busts out the most vulgar sailor's mouth EVER. Yay!
Ian kicking that guys hand at the TLA show, yeah, that was pretty awesome. The Disease still on the set list..YES. Ian's Roadhouse Blues and Walk on the Wild Side..double YES. People recognizing me as Krissythegroupie..Yes? Haha, it was slightly odd, but they were all fellow Bunnynerds and super nice so I'd give it a YES. Also, I got my first actual Bunnytour tshirt since 2001! They've had such horrible ones for the past few years..and this is even in a girly size! Yay!
Now for the NYC show I had gotten like, 4 hrs sleep tops before gettin my ass to work, hungover. Once I got back to NYC from home it was like I hadn't seen wifey in aaaaaages and we began the celebrating with a carafe of sangria. And then some drinks at our fave bar. Bottom line, Saturday started a lil' ruff, but once out of work and on my way to Irving with my friend, I was reenergized! And then the sake helped, hehe. My front and center position at the show was pretty fucking fantastic, I must say. This dude was kinda in front of me and then, out of nowhere, completely dissapears after the opening band. So that worked out nicely for yours truely.
Ian's dancing and cig volleying were in fine form, yay! He seemed much more into it and playful than at the Philly show. Still a bit grumpy at times, but FUCK he's Ian!! I LOVE when he makes fun of the audience and mumbles and whatnot. Precious! The set list was the same and this tours was light on the new stuff..but Scissors in the Sand was rizzockin!
After the show I decided it wasn't worth it to wait around to see if I could say hullo to Ian instead of heading to the Annex, so with a heavy heart, I did NOT see Ian this tour. Oh, well. The afterparty was pretty great and Will deejays some fun oldies, and the Bunnyforumites were out in full force! I bit too much whiskeyshots and I remember I said something dorky to Will.. I forget now what it was. But I know it was pretty dorky like, " This was my 15th show I love you!" Nice. My friend Darren asked the guitarist where Ian was ( and tells him that I'm crazy in love with Ian or something..thanks Darren! ) and he says, "In his hotel room doing drugs." Hmmm. This is my hero, huh? Why can't Ian just do the drugs in the bathroom of the bar like every other rock star? JOKING. But seriously, that's kind of a bummer. I guess you can only be a rock star for so long before you get jaded and just want to go back to the hotel and get high. Sigh! I can understand I guess. I still <3 him.
But the night was awesome to the max, and the next day after all these shenangans, I was pretty much a narcoleptic. I would be awake watching tv on the couch with wifey for a couple hours, then fall asleep for 2 hours. ALL DAY. I woke up only to eat sushi haha. I'm still a lil' out of it today, but life goes on! I gotta get back to work getting work!
It's always funny after a Bunnytour when I get all these people's messages and phone calls finally and they all go, "Krissy! Damn, I thought you were dead!"*Update*
My online friend from the Bunnyforum, Jack, actually reviewed me on my "performance" at the NYC show-HAHAHA! That made me laugh pretty dizzamn hard Jack, thanks! I hope the 3 stars was out of 4! I know I couldn't have let you down *that* much, I was wearing pink, I was front and center (materializing like magic!), and I had plenty of whiskey at the afterparty! I'm not a freaker-outer at shows ya know? I just get all spacey, in fact I think shows actually neutralize my craziness sometimes! Ian soothes the savage beast. Or the drunk beast. Or something. I am a nerd.
