Boys in bands make Krissy krazy
LET ME TELL YOU, he was more amazing than I was expecting. Not enough people were there for his talent bracket ya know (it was 7 on Halloween..that's pretty fuckin' rough), but he was so great. His voice is like, UGH I'm not getting into it. It was like when I used to go to the local college campus coffee shop and make googly eyes at whatever cute boy was rocking his acoustic geetar..except Shane is obv like 8 bajillion times better, haha. My friend Sass couldn't believe I like such a cute, mellow, pretty little rocker, but ya know, I'm a music shizo. His voice is RIDICULOUS. Then somehow I ended up having a chitchat with 'im..won't go into it. But I will say, he was wearing a cowboy hat. And I can't wait till he comes back to NYC.
Then Halloween happened, ballz to the wallz, @ my little hangout Lit Lounge. Of course. Naughty things were done, old friend rockstars were ran into and molested by moi, and here's the only evidence of the night I am willing to disclose here.
It's Sailor Mars yo!! If you don't know of the Sailor Moon..well..yer probably a lot cooler than me. Don't gloat tho, it's really not too hard. Oh, and this was @ Lit,
It's Kris-SCARE-ah! HA! Ahem..ok, lame.
Then the night night twas off to my first night of Fontana's to see my friends band, the ever amazing Mutronium. And of course, they were amazing. Saints and Lovers, as usual, were also great, before Mutronium. They're a really consistently good band, and I like the singer's hoodie up over his head. I don't know why. Mutronium, in mid-rock, mid-synth:
Then after them there was a little rockabilly surprise called B-Monster, get THIS, from England. They were English. Rowr.
Needless to say, I drank my Sparksies and stayed the hell away from any members of this band. They were dressed in the whole western thang and were sooooooper fun! I wanted to check them out again in NYC, but I was low on funds after the walletfuck of CMJ. Well, I did a lil' to eff up the cashflow also with my own lil' CMJ afterparty @ the Library with my girlies. Let's paint a portrait of a happy indie rawk Bunny! And her adorable wah!
Fast forward to the NEXT night at Fontana's, once again hittin up the sugarfreez Sparks, jacking a CMJ pass to see the awesome Death of Fashion. I've seen em a bunch of times and they rock my socks off everytime, for realz. The one singer always gets all climbin out in the crowd, the bassist is always bouncin all over the joint, I just love 'em. They're good ol' glammy rock. The one singer gets a little Jim Morrison also. Bottom line, they were the hotness.
Too MUCH. IIIII was suffiently drunk and decided that FUCK ALL I was going to go see Benzos at Tiswas, goo-durnit! So, an hour late mind you, I say payce out and run a few blocks to where Benzos are playing. I don't normally run around drunk by myself, but this is Benzos we're talking bout here. IN FACT, a week or so before CMJ that blog the Gothamist had a pic from my Flickr of Benzos! I got captioned and whatnotz! Look!
Now, when I get Gawkered, (read: prolly never), I will simply diiiiiie. Anyway, by the grace of the CMJ gods, the band BEFORE Benzos were comin on, and on top of that, they were AMAZING. Like, they were fucking ACE! AND they're scottish, ahhh. I think to see them in action too is the best so here's a vid of theres.
By the time Benzos came on, 2 hrs late, I was drunk enuff to stand right in front by myself and shake my booty. Even though I was alone, and I've seen them a million times, they were probably still the best band of CMJ. AMAZING. All their new songs were sexy as whoa. I'm obsessed with them still. The pics are substandard, even for me tho, because the lighting show was a lil dark and I was a lil' 3 sheets to the wind. I sucked down like 3 PBRs waiting for them.
And lastly, I'm obsessed with their song "Teach Me the Way" that they always do last, and I decided to capture a few seconds of it. I don't know why. But I did so I might as well take it off Bunnycamz and show it to the world (read: myself. maybe wifey)!!
I <3 you Benzos! Can't wait for the forthcomin album!!
And for our final thoughts: CMJ=fun, Halloween=naughty, and I can't wait for this on Sat. Ahh, my wifey's just gettin better with age!
