YouTube has taken over my life (well, even more?)

Along with edamame, the House of Love, the Chelsea Handler Show, and bloody marys for lunch. Great. What am I doing with my life again...?? Oh, yeah. Watching this AMAZING VIDEO and wishing that Pete Shelly guy was still performing live. Sometimes it's a good thing that one of my pre-game pasttimes is sitting around drinking and watching the Alternative on VH1 Classic, cos some of the BEST music is on that. And it's real fun to be buzzed as hell and have THIS come on!

Believe me, you'd think that's a lame way to start a Friday night, but I laughed so hard Sparks almost came out of my nose. They don't make 'em like that anymore folks..I mean, WHAT?! I love it! Gratutitous tight gold bodysuits and ridiculously fake bluescreen motorcycling..ahhh! I'm going out and buying Erasure's best of as soon as humanly possible. I mean I knew a few songs..but it really just doesn't get any better methinks.

Where's Krissythegroupie's groupies???

Look at me, I'm a singer! I'm gonna go act like I'm the awesomest ever, do some drugs, drink some alc, and then hit on some babes! But for real, can you image an drunken japanimation charactergirl singing the Killing Moon? That's what I sound like. Yeesh. Thank god for that open bar so noone @ Lit seems to care!

Here's my only groupie! But look how cute!

This makes me happy!

Awwww!

Also, this, where I swear to gawwwd I can make myself do a purrrfect impression of that lil kitten in the pink bow! This is by far one of my favoritest songs I regularly jam out to when I need a goofy pick-me-up. Cos if yer not happy you can't count on others, you gotta do that shizz yerself. Friends are great, and so is a beer, but this is even better!

Top 5 Songs I'm going to listen to right now by myself, in my cluttered Brooklyn room, trying to cheer the FUCK UP:

1.) Everybody Wants to be a Cat!-->the Aristocats
2.)Underground--Bowie, from the Labyrinth soundtrack (yeeeeeeahhh)
3.)Fly me to the Moon-Frank Sinatra
4.)Breakfast at Tiffany's-->Deep Blue Something
5.)Africa-Toto

Honorable Mention: Marijuana in your Brain-->Lords of Acid

Nonhonorable Mention (this song came on and I wanted to jump out of my window halfway thru, argh): Confessions-->Violent Femmes ARGH DOUBLE ARGH

I know I was frustrated in school, I was frustrated when I was unemployed, and now im frustrated TIMES A MILLION now that I'm employed (kinda). My life is always this big ol' snowball thing, and then when it stops I get depressed or restless. If I'm not on the move, if I'm not seeing a band, running to work, churning towards a deadline, meeting new people, meeting up with friends, on some effing mission, I'm listless and I get lazy. There's always a band, a boy, a party, a drama, or a new person to avert my attention from other things. I have the attention span of a geedee puppy. I think I should go on the adherol or something cos I lack focus more and more with every passin dizzay. OOOoooOo! Fine Young Cannibals just came on the ol' random iTunes!

Also movies like Freddy vs. Jason make me happy ( ohmigawd Freddy Krueger is the maan, he used to make me so scared when I was little I'd have to go barf!), and also my first sighting of Craig Bierko in the Apple store. He was right next to me, and at first I didn't realize it was him cos he was all scruffy and like 6'4 or something cruise-azy like that, but as soon as I heard his voice BAM! I knew it was him. Have you seen the 13th Floor?? One of my fave movies..I even have the original movie poster in my old room in PA.

I was in love with him all throughout high school haha! Also, have ya seen the Long Kiss Goodnight with Samuel L. Jackson?? Well it was a damn good action movie, and he was in a comedy called Sour Grapes and I saw him once on Ally McBeal, and now I guess his new movie is Scary Movie 4. Hmmm..I dunno, he better have a big part! Maybe wifey will download it. Look at how gorgeous this bastard is, and his voice is a miiillion times even nicer..oh, and he's a good actor.

But seriously. Rowr.

Starfish

Alright, I think I've put this off as long as I can. When you have loved and I mean LOVED a band since you were 17, how can one stupid blog post do any justice to a concert? Well it fucking can't. But let's get real, imma try it. Ahhh..the Church! First off tho, when I walked into Irving Plaza prepared to get right front and center and make gaga eyes at Steve K. and Marty all night, and there were CHAIRS set up in rows, well, that was just fucked up. A real letdown. What the hell?! Last I checked they were a rock band, even if the tour was acoustic..bah! Whatever the point is I wasn't feelin bad fer long, cos they opened with Block and DAMN HELL it was fucking amazing from then on (that opener guy, Rob Dickenson..mm, kinda pussyish tunes, can't say I dug him)! Here was the setlist (with my little memory notes hehe) :

Block
All I Know
Metropolis-->A flamenco version, a la "El Momento Descudado." I got fucking CHILLS. GORGEOUS.
0408
Grind-->My dad once called this "druggie music" when i was listening to it age 18 whilst painting. This coming from a guy whose fave band is the fucking Doors. Right dad!
A New Season-->Peter is fucking adorable. Not too much else to say on that one.
Providence-->OH MY GOD. He played it for the late Grant from the Go Betweens, but I always remember it from my Acoustic and Intimate cd I have of Kilbey's, and I listen to it and get all weepy all the time.
Sealine--> <3
Don't Look Back-->mothereffing old school yo..the Blurred effing Crusade!
She'll Come Back For You Tomorrow
Pure Chance
Two Places at Once--> Awwww!!
Tristesse--> Marty jammed it out for his song, and his guitar playing impresses more than pretty much any other guitarist I've ever seen.
Buffalo--> Ah, probably one of the highlites of the night, cos I've never heard them do this song live, and it's one of my favorites. For many reasons, one of which is that he sings" Someone I met there, name of Kristina.." It's the only song I know with my name in it, and to hear Steve K. sing it..LIVE..
Easy--> Adorable!
Under The Milky Way--> Steve goes, " I didn't write this song. I found the words on a bubble gum wrapper." I took a lil crappy video to remember it forever, yay!

Day 5

   First Encore
The Unguarded Moment-->HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Steve said it was the first time he played it in NYC! And I know he hates that song, so it was really sweet of him to play it for us nerdies. It was a moment, yo.
Invisible (with Rob Dickinson)-->Gorgeous, and then they broke into Decadence in the middle of the jam out.."We're drinking to Marleeene...!"

   Second Encore
Constant In Opal

Afterwards I HAD to meet Sk again..and since now he um has talked to me a tad on his blog (shhh i know!) so I fucking HAD to say hello. He came out of Irving and I go, "Steve!" and he looks at me, and i go, "Hi! I'm krissy..." and he goes, "Krissy the groupie!"
And I died.
Haha! He gives me a hug, and we start chitchatting for a bit. He was SOOO NICE and I couldn't even handle it. He goes, "Yer famous!" haha, cos I've been commenting on his damn blog since last november. In FACT, the only reason I started this blog was cos I wanted to comment and have a lil avatar show up and I ended up just enjoying blogging a bit. Thanks Steve! We talked about his blog, the Bunnymen ( I KNOW), and he goofed on Ian Mac a bit, which was pretty amusing. Only cos he's Sk. He asked me why I like all these old bands and why they're better than the youngins..and I wasn't as witty I think as I can be cos um ITS STEVE KILBEY and I was pretty much going brain dead, haha. Oh, and of course I show him my starfish tattoo, what a geek, but he didn't seem too weirded out, I'm sure he's seen worse. He was really tall and tan and had a nice grayish beard and no more ponytail..and of course his gorgeous eyes, OH MY. But see for yourself! He was soooo nice to me and even gave me a kissy on the cheek goodnight..then called me a sweet young thing on his blog. He's the fucking MAN. Bottom line. I can't even talk about it any more cos it makes my head implode. I went to the afterparty and stalked Marty a bit but couldnt' get my strength up to talk to him haha, oh Marty! Anyway, check my cutie-pie pic with Sk. If I were 25 years older...!! HAHA. Joke.
